EXCURSIONS FROM NAUVO TO SEILI IN THE SUMMER OF 2010

"The island of no return" - Or at least not in the time when the island as a deportation place for the leper, mad and non wanted.

Join us for an unforgettable excursion of Seili! You will have a chance to take part of Seilis exciting history,beautiful nature and seavoyage by m/s Linta.

Guided tours 3.7-31.7.2010 (no tour 21/7), every Wednesday starting 12.10 and Saturday 12.00. Trip starts from the guest harbour of Nauvo. The trip takes 3 hours. NOTICE! Gathering at least 15 minutes before departure.

Price: Adults 26€ and children (4-12 years) 13€. The price includes the guides services during the whole trip, entrance to the church museum and roundtrip by boat. There is a café at the ship, where you can buy beverages.

THE ARCHIPELAGO BY BIKE IN THE SUMMER OF 2010

THE ARCHIPELAGO ROUTE 4 DAYS

Route: Nauvo-Rymättylä-Velkua-Kustavi-Nauvo

Day etapes are about 35 km. 4 over nightings. The price of the trip is 360 eur/person (min 2 persons). Which includes the routplan (1 routplan/group), bike with equipment, the ferry charges, accommodations including breakfasts and one dinner. With your own bike the price of the excursion is 295 euro/ person. Single room for additional 60 €. Departure every day during 1.6-17.8 and the trip is done on one's own initiative. Max. 10 persons.

THE LUXURY PACKAGE OF THE LITTLE ARCHIPELAGO TRAIL

Route: Nauvo-Rymättylä-Velkua-Kustavi-Nauvo

Day etapes approx 35. 4 overnightings. The price of the excursion is 1140 eur for two persons. Which includes the travelplan, the bicycle with it's equipment, ferry charges, accommodations with breakfasts and one dinner. We transport your luggage between the accommodations. Sauna every night during the trip. At the Luotsiasema B&B accommodations in the penthouse on the upper floor with a seaview in four directions.

THE PENSAR ROUTE 1 DAY

Route: Nauvo-Lenholm-Granvik-Pensar-Nauvo

Length 45 km, of which 25 km are quiet country roads and a one hour boat trip. Lot of nature sight-seeing during the trip, among others the oakfield. Price 35eur/person includes the routeplan, the bicycle and it's equipment and lunch. The bike can be redeemed and returned at the Archipelago Booking of Finland or at the place of accommodation. By own bike the price of the excursion is 20 euro/person. Departures daily 1.4-30.9.2010. The excursion is done on one's own initiative.

THE NORRSKATA ROUTE 1 DAY

Route: Nauvo-Norrskata-Korppoo-Nauvo

Length 30 km, of which 20 km are quiet country roads. The seavoyage by ferry from one island to the next issure to leave one self impressed. The price 38 eur/person includes the routeplan, bicycle and helmet and the ferry charges. The bike is redeemed and returned at the Archipelago Booking of Finland or at the place of accommodations. The excursion is done by one's own initiative and is available from Monday to Friday.

THE ARCHIPELAGO TRAIL 3-5 DAYS

Route: Turku-Naantali-Velkua-Kustavi-Iniö-Houtskari-Korppoo-Nauvo-Parainen-Turku or in the opposite direction

The lenght of the xcursion is about 190 km. Along the trail there are alot of nice B&B's, but in july they can be pretty full booked. We recomend you to book your accommodations at the Archipeago Booking of Finland in good time before your departure. A great help in planning your biketrip in the archipleago is the Bike guide of the Archipleago, which you can order from us for the price of 12 euro + postalexpenses.

EXCURSIONS TO THE OUTER ISLANDS IN THE SUMMER OF 2009, timetable 2010 not yet ready

TRIP TO JUNGFRUSKÄR 2009

From Houtskär 8.7. and 22.7. at 1pm. Return 6pm. From Korpoström 1.7, 15.7, 29.7. Price 35 eur/adult, 20 eur/child. Coffee and guided tour are included in the price.

Booking at latest at noon the day before departure. For the tour to take place there has to be at least 15 participants. The cancellation of the tour will be announced by telephone on the evening before the trip.

Bad weather (12 meters/second) may effect the tour. The shipowner does not take responsibility for any damage caused by salty water or bad weather on transportation of bicycles or other equipment. The captain has the right to stop the trafic on his own accord.

M/s Tyrsky is a traditional steel built seabus, which can take up to 33 passangers. The ship has a sundeck for about 20 people. The ship travles at 8 knots so the speed is suited for sightseeing.

Jungfruskär is located in the middle of the bay of Skiftet. The island is a part of the village of Hyppeis on Houtskär and is well known for its beautiful leafmeadow which is a result from the collaboration between nature and the humans for hundreds of years. The atmosphere is warmer than you would expect on these nordic latitudes. The flowers are at their best in the begining of june. There has also been a military fort on the island.

Travel the interesting islands in the Archipelago of Turku and the Archipelago National park by the affordable ferries and by staying the nights in Bed and Breakfasts (2 pers/room). The tour includes one trip with a taxiboat. You get to see the best parts of the archipelago without having to buy a boat or learn to navigate.

Sunday, Vänö:

Departure from Kasnäs at noon. Kasnäs is the southernmost part of the island of Kemiö and its harbour is easy to reach by bus from Helsinki or Turku. After the one and a half hour trip with the ferry you reach Vänö, the fishing village which has it's roots in the beginning of the last milennia. The ferryride to Vänö passes by Tunhamn. These parts of the archipelago are well known for the majestic eagles that soar the skies. The chapel on Vänö has it's origins in the 17th century. When we arrive on Vänö we'll have lunch and the guests will be seen to their quarters. During the guided ghost tour we'll take part in the exciting history of the island while we visit the chapel and the abandoned graveyard. On Vänö you can also try kayaking and fishing. Sauna in the evening.

Monday, Borstö-Nötö:

After the breakfast the taxiboat takes us to Borstö. On Borstö we'll have plenty of time to get the know the pictoresque island village and the lookout point, the naturepath, the stone labyrinth and the village museum that contains some interesting artifacts gathered from sunken treasure ships. At noon the ferry takes us the island of Nötö where we arrive at 2.30pm. The accommodation is at the Backaro boarding house. Soupe for lunch. Nötö is the biggest island in the southern archipelago, with many tarditional houses and a windmill. Nötö is well known for it's many iron age archeological findings.

Tuesday, Jurmo:

After the breakfast we take the ferry called Eivor at about 10 am towards Jurmo. Jurmo is the last piece of the Salpausselkä ridge, that passes trough Finland, before it disappears in the Baltic sea. The 7 kilometers long island is one of many other signs left in the archipelago by the ice age. On Jurmo you'll find many rare species of birds and plants. The islands prehistoric site is one of the most visited attractions in the archipelago. You can also visit the island chapel, the nature park exhibition and the nature path. The accommodation is at the local Bed and Breakfast. Lunch included.

Wednesday, Utö:

Breakfast and lunch on Jurmo. Freetime until 2.30pm when the ferry Eivor leaves for Utö. The trip to Utö takes 1 hour. On these outer islands there have been many seal sightings. Utö is the southernmost island of Finland. Guided tour of the lighthouse and the museum. Utö has been a military fort and there for it has been very thightly inhabited for a secluded island. Utö has been a central in many shipwrecks. At 6pm the ferry leaves for Nauvo. To Pärnäs in Nauvo the ship arrives at 10.30pm. From here it's a short trip by taxi to the centre of Nauvo. Accommodation at a boardning house in Nauvo.

Thursday, Nauvo:

Breakfast. The possibility to visit the sights of Nauvo and then take the bus towards Helsinki or Turku.

Price: 365 eur/person, when the accommodation is in 2 person rooms.

The price does NOT include: The ferry charges about 30 euro (it's better to pay on the boat directly). Taxi Pärnäs-Nauvo. Equipment charges on the islands (kayaks, boats, fishing equipment) and entrance to the museums. For troll fishing you have to have separate licenses. Anglers do not need a license. Along the route you will find alot of cultural and natural sights. There is a wide range of accommodation possibilities along the way, but july tends to be quite booked. SAILING TRIPS TO ÖRÖ

The military fortress of Örö is open for restricted visitation during the summer of 2010. The schooner Inga sails to this destination 15 times. Visiting with a boat of your own is prohibited.

The program includes the trip to the island and back with the schooner Inga and a two hour guided tour on the island. On the way there the sails are set and there is a fish soup lunch. The crew will tell you about traditional sailing and the archipelago and the passangers can take part in the sail setting. During the guided tour the guides tell about the history and nature of the island. More information here. Bookings here. Be aware that it's more difficult to participate in this tour if the participant doesn't have a finnish citizenship.
